About Westwind Adventures

Westwind Adventures is owned and operated by Mark Westwind. Mark has been paddling the Bay, the Coast and the Carquinez Strait since 1987. He and his long-time friend and paddling buddy Jim Ocean have paddled the Carquinez Straits in the sun, rain, wind, waves, dark of night and even tule fog! 

The mission of Westwind Adventures is:

• To share the fun and adventure of kayaking on the Carquinez Straits with people 
  who don't have the equipment and/or experience to do so on their own
    

• To educate our guests about the wildlife, ecology and natural history of the Carquinez Straits and to help raise awareness of the importance of protecting this scenic environment and its historical heritage
    

• To help build a community of kayakers in this area

We encourage all of our guests to explore and enjoy the Martinez Shoreline Regional Park, our beautiful open space hills, and the historic towns of Martinez (home of John Muir), and Benicia (the first capital of California).
