Benicia Coastal Adventures

Almost any time is a good time to go kayaking ...

it's always fun to get out on the water!

We plan our adventures around the currents and tides.
OR call us to arrange a date and time that works for you.

Benicia is a picturesque and historic town along a beautiful stretch of the Straits. The coast is quite scenic on both sides: open space hills on the opposite shore with Mt. Diablo in the distance, and cool houses, piers, rocky cliffs and vest-pocket beaches to check out on the Benicia side.

All of our Benicia adventures launch from the newly remodeled dock at the 9th Street Park. It's a beautiful spot for a pre- or post-paddle picnic. There's also plenty of parking and brand new restrooms! Benicia also has a number of great restaurants for post-paddle dining.

We offer four Kayak Benicia! adventures - all launching from 9th Street Park:

Individual & Group Rates

Explore the Benicia Coast

This is a great way to get out on the water - particularly for the first time. Once we've launched, we'll paddle west around Commodore Jones Point and check out the view of the bridges, then head leisurely east along the coast to Benicia Point. After a break, we'll play with the wind and waves as we paddle back.

Sunset over the Straits

Explore the Carquinez Straits

If you'd like a longer paddle, we'll continue up the Benicia coast past Benicia Point and take a break at 1st Street Beach. Then, we'll paddle out explore the islands off Benicia Point and cross the Straits to Castaway Beach. Quite an adventure - ideal for novice kayakers.

Taking a break at Castaway Beach

Crossing the Straits to Martinez

We'll take you on an extended adventure along the Benicia coast, out to the islands off Benicia Point, then across the Straits to Castaway Beach. After a break, we'll continue on to explore the Martinez wetlands, then ride the current back. A great way to really experience the Carquinez Straits!
